Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great small-size German photo album from World War I, measuring 8 x 5 x 1”, featuring a great assortment of 44 photos and postcards. The photos include unexploded ordnance, destroyed city ruins, many unit photos, and photos from what appear to be catacombs or tombs, with countless skulls and bones lining the walls. There are some photos of trench lines with lines drawn to where his unit moved, “Hohe 378”, or Hill 378, etc.

The front of the album has a 1914 Iron Cross with the caption, Reserve Lazarett VI, for Reserve Hospital VI. The album is held together with a red, black, and white braided string, a great patriotic piece. One highlight is a scene of a trench with an unexploded Aerial bomb, with the next photo being a close-up of said bomb. There’s a photograph of a German officer in his office writing a letter home. There is one photo which appears to depict a dead Allied soldier in the mud.

A really great German WWI album with lots of research potential. Comes ready for further research and display.
