If you are a beginning sewer or would like to make your Capelet reversible*, follow the directions for the Beginner Capelet. You can choose to add a hood or collar, or you can keep it simple and make a collarless version. If you are comfortable with Intermediate level patterns, follow the instructions for the Intermediate Capelet. It can also be made with a hood, a collar or collarless.
*NOTE: Only the Beginner Capelet is reversible.

Tools and Materials:
For the Beginner Capelet
- 17 inches W x 20 inches L piece of lightweight cotton, polyester, wool or blends for the outer shell of the Capelet. The fabric you choose should have a nice drape.
- 17 inches W x 20 inches L piece of coordinating lightweight cotton, polyester, wool or blends for the lining.
- Optional – 4 inches of ¼ - 3/8 inch wide ribbon, two 8 mm jump rings and 3 inches of chain
- Optional – 3 or more small buttons
For the Intermediate Capelet
- ½ yard of lightweight cotton, polyester, wool or blends. The fabric you choose should have a nice drape.
- 15 inches W x 20 inches L piece of coordinating cotton, polyester, satin or blends for lining
- Optional – 4 inches of ¼ - 3/8 inch wide ribbon, two 8 mm jump rings and 3 inches of chain
- Optional – 3 or more small buttons
